What if the Philippines have snow?

I have been around the world several times, and never seem to notice the world outside as I am focused on my meetings and job assignments.
I was in Russia sometime, -20 C, it is so cold that boiling water froze when tossed in air. I was wondering, what if the Philippines encountered snow in its lands? How can they really handle the real cold weather I am experiencing right now?

The coldest part i have been in the Philippines is in Benguet and Baguio. I became sick because of the long widening zigzag and rough roads I have to endure to come there. To tell you the truth, in my own opinion. It is just ordinary. The weather is cold but not special. Because if it is mid-day, you must remove your jacket as the temperature is just ordinary.

Upon analysis and discussions with some fellow Filipinos and foreigners. I have concluded that Filipinos cannot live through 'snow' on a long term basis. We are just not up to it. I myself go inside my cozy warm office upon the presence of snow. I just can't get used to ice falling down on me - because I was born on a warm part of the planet.

Snow in the Philippines will cause a lot of problems. Drainage systems will be clogged more, no special vehicles or equipment to clean the snow on the roads, and people will not work at all as some of them might get sick (maybe someone stupid enough to gather snow and put it on their food to save refrigeration cost, but didn't know that the snow is contaminated with garbage water).

But the problem these days is that the Philippines is getting hotter and hotter. Something is going whether global warming or we are just getting fatter, I have noticed it myself, and the humidity is so bad, I was sick as well.

Maybe a few drops of snow might work in the Philippines, I hope that happens during the summer season.

Philippines: 10, 20, 50 years from now (cont 3...)

There will be a time of civil war. All Filipinos will try to kill each other. All businesses will turn their backs away.
Everything will be in ruins. But some still remained, especially major companies from Japan and USA.

There will be extreme chaos all around. China will step in, as well as Americans. Some Filipinos will try to fight them off, but when offered asylum to their respective countries, they did not fight them anymore. Pathetic indeed.

A major earthquake may come on June, some few hundred people may die.

Increase in water level is also a concern, and fishing will be a great business venture.

Traffic will still be a problem, no one has ever solved it. Pollution will be on an all time high, and gas prices seem to soar in the sky. People will now opt to stay at their workplaces to save on transportation fares and traffic jams that waste time. People will learn to work online.

In the end, the Philippines will not change for many years. It will still be the same third world country that everyone has spitted and enjoyed on. It is open, it is adaptable, lazy, but can be developed.

I do not see any major thing that will happen. If some Filipinos will die, it is replaced immediately by 'baby-makers' who make babies just for fun and continue to increase the population. The government will be lax on this one, and they even encourage to produce more offspring - as this - they told - will be cheap and docile labor to the investors and bring more money to the economy.

As for me, I will die, and give this burden to my son. Hope he may do something about it, it is up to him if he will make the Philippines prosperous, or a failure.

What do I have to do to improve my country?

It is a simple question, but a hard one.

We all have problems, big, small, complicated, simple. And we have to solve it, either quickly or in a certain time.

Problems come and go.

I asked professionals, businessmen, scientists, engineers, educators, doctors, those who have spent their lives studying and crunching numbers...

What can I do to improve our country?

They gave me plans, presented it to me, some reports, feasibility studies so thick I am not able to read it.

Why should I believe them where they are not checking outside?

So that is what I did.

I saw a boy, with rugby stuck on his nose, I have my trusty camcorder with me, and recorded it.

Why do you have to do this? I asked the boy.

He just smiled and told me, "My parents are sick, I do this to buy medicine."

Simple, logical, and effective. As Albert Einstein said, "It takes a genius to see the obvious."
If there is no money, try to work for it, either you beg or whatever, just do it.

Then I told those professionals:

Gentlemen, your education is impressive, and you have presented me these reports and all, I will show you what I did...

I saw this boy outside, begging for money, on the streets of Manila where vehicles travel fast. He already inhaled the polluted city smoke for more than a month now. He did not take a bath and he stink a lot.
I asked him why he did it, he told the money will be used to buy medicine for his parents.

You may have thought just give the boy some money right? Just imagine, how can a small boy explain to the pharmacist what kind of medicine I need for my parents? What if he buys a wrong one? The money that I have given is wasted.

To make it short, I told him to take me into their home, so that I can see his parents condition myself. When I saw them both, they are in bed, both are sick with high fever.

Without intervention from my assistants, I bought some fruits, soup and medicines to make their fever drop. And some extra medicines were also given by the pharmacist to counter all possible sickness the couple will have.

All these I have done myself. The cost incurred is P100 + 5 hours of my time.

After they felt a little better, they asked me who I am. I told them this:
"Now your condition has improved, all of this is a test. everything is. Now you can go to work and do the same thing that I did to other people. I spent P100 to you both and gave my time also. Try to duplicate that or beat it.

They were stunned to hear me said that.

How to remove sadness instantly

I have been reviewing some of the Philippine news lately.

Nothing to write about. Full of bickering and bad mouthing anonymously on the internet. even the reporters themselves are incompetent. My elementary students can write more honest reports than these guys who graduated from college.

News is there, bad, worst, negativity, shame, scandals, depression...

There are times we should let it go.

Go to a place that is quiet, serene, only you.

Watch the birds fly, swaying of the trees with the wind. Relax for a bit.

And shout these phrases:

"Pu*%*%^*(&)(^()_)((   MOOOOO AYAW KO NA SA IYO!"

(Translation: F*ck you I don't want you anymore!)

I am sure that negativity will be absorbed by the serene nature you are viewing right now.

You can cry all you want, let it go.

Repeat many times as you like.

tell me your reactions

Philippines and China Relations

I am really skeptical on our relationship with China.

You know why? Because they will make us their cheap docile labor.

I asked P-Noy on his agenda and his plans on this. All are just jibberish for now. I do not see any concrete plans on how China will contribute to the Philippine Economy (except for bringing fake goods in our country).

I will talk to him once more.

Please brace yourselves and tighten your belts as always.

Long Story Short

To all those who just read my story. I will make it short for you.

I own the Republic of the Philippines, and it is killing me day by day.

Thank you for letting me get it out of my chest.

Check my previous stories on how I got its ownership. It is a never ending struggle, my family suffered from generations. Now I am taking the whole burden, like Atlas who is carrying the whole world by himself.

What is the problem with my country? I tell you as below:

1. Rotten politics
2. Undisciplined people
3. Colonial mentality / globalized economy
4. Corrupt Government Officials
5. Destruction of Environment

Foreign investment is just temporary, they will just use Filipinos as 'cheap and docile' labor and leave. But Filipinos are not cheap anymore, they are going to China, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc.

We do not have a plan on how to improve. All we want is a good time. No stress also right?

Relax.... bring it all to me, i will try to solve the Philippine's problems somehow...

Adventures in the Philippine Entertainment Industry

Philippine Showbiz is very colorful. Same as its politics. The changing of faces, bright lights, and cameras is quite amusing to my eyes. Beautiful and Handsome women and men, who perform during the wee hours of the morning, is totally a great feat.

I saw Kuya Germs once and he was talking with my mother. My mother is quite bitchy at times as he wants those new 'fresh' guys at 'That's Entertainment'. But sometimes they fight each other on how to keep things running (or the term broadcasting is more proper) and to generate more income through sponsors.

I was almost to be put on the show too but my mother told, '..don't put him, he is camera-shy.' yes she is correct.

I was more focused on how things work, how does the camera takes a video, how it is transferred to tape, how do they mix audio and do a transition on the videos, how do they set up the lights, the speakers, the special effects. I have this idea now that maybe I can do this on my own. I want to be a director that entertains people, make them laugh, cry or be inspired. With all of these equipment. Maybe I can have my own channel.

In the early days of entertainment, we all knew that it was simple. We get all the 'canned' (these are term for video cassettes, a durable one that contains one week of the series episodes) from abroad and just show it here. No interaction, no viewer input. Only in news reports that we get some live feeds. Very few have the knowledge and resources that they have to perform and broadcast an episode LIVE.

My mom always went out with Sharon and Vilma. I have seen them once or twice at home. They are big stars  but still they are people. They went out shopping and sometimes drinking, and crying. Especially when it comes to their husbands. I was just listening and all. So I thought that they put up a big smile on the screen, but in their personal lives they are really miserable. Very few stars have been happy on both on and off camera. Maybe it is a way of life for the, They entered in this world and this is the risk they have to take.

Some actors/actresses are so naive that I do not know why they deserve such adulation from the viewers.
There was this one early budding host which shouted at me and my companion while we are fixing a pipe on one of the lavatory (we thought there was no one there and the attendant told there was nobody inside).
She shouted so hard that we must get out. She even called my companion and asked if he has seen her naked or something. then she looked for me as well, luckily it was my day off. Then they called back on the leaking pipe again and told my people never fix their pipe there because you might be mistaken as a peeping-Tom.

Some actors actresses are so, i dont know, dumb perhaps. I was working once in a cooling tower in one of the biggest networks in QC,  I saw someone fighting near the studio, then I came to know it was RP, and his boyfriend who looks like an ex-convict. Why such a pretty face will have a bf like that? I talked to her manager and told about what I saw. She just shrugged it off and told that 'she's dumb maybe. she was treated like shit and all, but she still loves him.' Sad but true.

There was this funny thing I will share with you, I have met many actors and actresses, local and foreign, but I did not get their autographs. During one of our maintenance schedules, I was asked to ask for an autograph to any actor/actress that pass by.

"C'mon, you are the most handsome guy we have around!"

Then I saw an open dressing room, I saw one pretty face, It was Jolina Magdangal. Then quickly I went inside and asked for her autograph. Quite embarrassing as my pen didn't work, so she used her own pen.
My colleagues are quite happy with what I did but was teased heavily at home with my sisters.

Good quality movies fascinates me. I am not swayed into special effects and stuff like that. A good movie requires good quality story telling. Simple as that. Whether it gathered awards or not, if the movie is good. I give my recommendations to the director, staff and actors.

Why we Filipinos love second hand items? (conclusion)

Although I have met some Pinoys who have this 'pride' that they want to have brand new things in their possession, majority of them are also swayed if they something cheap but original items which they long for.

Because Philippines is a third-world-country. That is about it.

Instead of buying brand new items which is overpriced for profit, items can be bought or even traded or swapped. We have lots of original items from around the world. Just go to the pier in Manila Port and you will lots of items from underwear to heavy equipment machinery. It is a big bargain really.

But it makes Pinoys also lazy.

They cannot make their own items for now, they all depend on these items that already existed in the market.

One good example is rice.

Rice is a common Asian staple food. So rice imported from neighboring countries like Thailand, Vietnam comes to the Philippines, all hell will break loose as the farmers there who plants their own rice variety will suffer because of the competition. RICE IMPORTED FROM OTHER COUNTRIES HAVE THE SAME PRICE SOMETIMES LOWER THAN THAT IS PRODUCED FROM THEIR OWN COUNTRY.

No need to explain further.

I asked some farmers too, why you are not planting your crops anymore? The answer is simple - why should we work very hard while I can buy rice immediately and even sell it?

But you will not get good profit.

Low profit is better than toiling hard, planting, breaking your back farming, bet your ass you cant stay at the field for an hour.

I was silent.

Something needs to be done here. Globalization and Capitalization can be our ally, and yet it became our worst enemy.

Not with the 'IN' crowd

Have you ever felt that you are alone in this world? seems that everybody has its own path to take and they knew what to do and seem to be very busy about it.

I am the one that watches things from the back drop, or in the background. Just checking things and be sure they are alright.

i dont know, what are our purpose in this world? is it to create a world or destroy it? I have the Philippines on the palm of my hand. What shall I do about it?

Maybe sell it to China.

Let the US come again and suck out all its natural resources.

Let the Brits come and colonize it like India.

Japan should conquer it too, they almost done it before.

Being a filipino is like almost nothing nowadays. it is quite different when someone mentions you are an indian, malaysian, chinese, korean, even vietnamese. hell, some are even confused on how they decribe your nationality. India = Indian; Bangladesh = bangladeshi; Korea=korean; Japan = Japanese

Philippines = hmmm Philippians (like the Bible?); Philippini (semi Arabic?); Philipinesse (odd);

So the correct one is Filipino. But that is a term for 'male' citizens of the Philippines. For Philippine women they are called 'Filipina.'

Arrrgggghhhhh

I am the owner, I am the one that is having problems. Well, i dont wanna sweat on the small stuff. There are important matters to attend to.

This is a more neutral thing to mention if someone asks your citizenship: "Philippine citizen'

I will tell this to PNOY!

I have received an email from one of my colleague, I was really inspired.

I will share it with you:

"MONEY IS YOURS BUT RESOURCES BELONG TO THE SOCIETY"

Germany is a highly industrialized country. It produces top brands like Benz, BMW, and Siemens etc. The nuclear reactor pump is made in a small
town in this country. In such a country, many will think its people lead a luxurious life. At least that was my impression before my study trip.
When I arrived at Hamburg , my colleagues who work in Hamburg arranged a welcome party for me in a restaurant. As we walked into the restaurant, we
noticed that a lot of tables were empty. There was a table where a young couple was having their meal. There were only two dishes and two
cans of beer on the table. I wondered if such simple meal could be romantic, and whether the girl will leave this stingy guy.
There were a few old ladies on another table. When a dish is served, the waiter would distribute the food for them, and they would finish every bit of the food on their
plates. We did not pay much attention to them, as we were looking forward to the dishes we ordered. As we were hungry, our local colleague
ordered more food for us. As the restaurant was quiet, the food came quite fast. Since there were other activities arranged for us, we did not
spend much time dining. When we left, there was still about one third of unconsumed food on the table.

When we were leaving the restaurant, we heard someone calling us. We noticed the old ladies in the restaurant were talking about us to the restaurant
owner. When they spoke to us in English, we understood that they were unhappy about us wasting so much food. We immediately felt that they were
really being too busybody.  "We paid for our food, it is none of your business how much food we left behind," my colleague Gui told the old
ladies. The old ladies were furious. One of them immediately took her hand phone out and made a call to someone. After a while, a man in uniform
claimed to be an officer from the Social Security organization arrived.
Upon knowing what the dispute was, he issued us a 50 Mark fine. We all kept quiet. The local colleague took out a 50 Mark note and repeatedly
apologized to the officer.
The officer told us in a stern voice, "ORDER WHAT YOU CAN CONSUME, "MONEY IS YOURS BUT RESOURCES BELONG TO THE SOCIETY".
THERE ARE MANY OTHERS IN THE WORLD WHO ARE FACING SHORTAGE OF RESOURCES. YOU HAVE NO REASON TO WASTE RESOURCES.´"

Our face turned red. We all agreed with him in our hearts. The mindset of people of this rich country put all of us to shame. WE REALLY NEED TO
REFLECT ON THIS. We are from country which is not very rich in resources. To save face, we order large quantity and also waste food when we give
others a treat. THIS LESSON TAUGHT US A LESSON TO THINK SERIOUSLY ABOUT CHANGING OUR BAD HABITS.
My colleague photostatted the fine ticket and gave a copy to each of us as a souvenir. All of us kept it and pasted on our wall to remind us that we shall never be wasteful.

My Adventures at work part 2

Actually, I was a working student. This is to show to my parents that I can support myself and be independent. Although they want me to study in exclusive schools like Ateneo, La Salle, etc. I was
disgusted by their way of teaching.

"How can I learn if money is always part of the curriculum?"

So I studied in a state university. Wherein the government subsidize the tuition fee. I enjoyed studying
here. I learned a lot of things and met new friends. My father once told me that some parents will sell
their land, cows, jewelry, etc. for their sons/daughters to finish their studies. That I encountered first hand with my classmates. Some even became farmers before, or out of schoo, youths. Some are twice
as old as I am and have children, but still they want to finish their studies. That for me is a lesson
not being taught in books - education is for everyone who wants it.

Technology in the Philippine Setting

I am an avid fan of technology. I do love it when it reaches to those people who really need it the most. Tractors for farmers, Powerful computers for scientists, latest books and computers for schools, etc.

Filipinos are very resilient and easy to adapt to any technology. First of all they can read and comprehend English, which is written in manuals and instructions. Second is proper care and usage of the equipment. They ensure that it will last. Third is upgrade, they can upgrade almost anything. Even obsolete technology.

During my time, while I was learning about DDC and BMS, I have met the best technicians and engineers in the field here and abroad. There is one guy that doesn't have any wife yet. Because of his knowledge and skill, he was being offered very high salary that will surely make any HR scratch their heads. If I am an owner, well maybe I can give half of my salary, because this guy can plan, install, and manage all your automation needs in your building, plant, or company easily. He is not one of those who wear fancy suits and all, he looks like a regular Joe. I did not see him anymore, i wonder which building or company he will design again.

Filipinos also love old school tech, it is like nostalgia. There is a shop in Greenhills that they restore old Nokia 909 or those Motorola Startacs. They make it work on regular sim and you can send SMS also. Surely, it is a head turner. And if someone steals it, hit the thief with your old school cellphone right on his/her head. Pretty soon he/she will be dead!

But there is a problem. We are so fond of other technology, we forgot or lazy to make our own. We are dependent on China made products right now. Why cannot we make it - that is my question to some large corporate CEO's. Well what they say is "...your goverment is corrupt, try to do something about it. It is hard to put up a business in your country. Also the people want more salary, not like in other countries there are cheap labor."

I cannot answer back.

My father also told me, "if we can make our own engine, then our country will prosper."
So i shelled out some money and supported some of the brightest students of the country. I turned out to be that they are not that bright. They are lazy sons/daughters of bitches. Why in the hell we can't make one?

Then I came to know one student from a state university.

He made his own engine from scratch, started it and all. I was so impressed by what he did and told him why you did not tell this?

"Sir, wala po kasing gustong makinig at tumulong sa akin." (Nobody listened and helped me.)

I was crying too, because his wife and chilfren left him while he was doing his research and engine development. He was fired from his job because of this. It was so lucky that I saw him and he showed me his creation. it was made not just a work of art, but with flesh, blood, and time.

I gave him an immigrant VISA to Europe, where he was hired immediately by a well known car manufacturer through my connection. Right now he is enjoying his new life there.

If nobody listened and helped him, they do not deserve his help as well. As simple as that

This is one of the things I am thinking now. Maybe I should stop the entry of any foreign products. i dont know....there is more planning to do. Please help me if you can.

The End of the Republic of the Philippines

Owning the Philippines is quite hard. Typhoons love it especially. Every year typhoons come and go to my country, and man, I tell you. It is getting scarier every year. As it becomes more stronger and stronger. You remember typhoon 'Milenyo'? our windows were all shattered because of the strong winds.

I have studied a lot about early civilizations and anthropologists about the rise, prosperity and fall of civilization, I really tried to think hard how it can be applied to my country. I talked to some teams in Hardvard, did computer modeling at MIT, and research in Oxford, my studies are fascinating and downright scary. For the Philippines, you will be surprised, there is a chance. I will tell you why in a minute.

How? You can imagine how corrupt the government is. From the president down to its every rank and file government employee. You cannot blame them too as their salary is not that big enough to support themselves and their families.

The rising prices of oil is truly mind boggling. If the price of oil is high, everything becomes high as well. Other neighboring countries are not that high like Thailand, etc. they did something like oild price subsidies, and promotion of alternative fuels like ethanol and LPG. Their vehicles are converted as well. With this, their government offered rebates. You will lose greatly if you use traditional fuel to run your vehicle.

And large private corporations are to blame too. Well they give jobs to my countrymen that's ok. But the job is not secured. Contractualization is still there, and this gives problems to workers, they do not know if they will be fired tomorrow.

So you tell me, how come is there a chance. Here it is:
Agriculture is still the main source of living of my country. Don't worry, I always talk to the president or else I will give him a hard time, better yet, People Power 3. I give utmost priority to the farmers and give them land so that they can produce more food. And this also helps on the export business, creating good GDP values.

Second, you ever know of quickening? 'Quickening' the term implies is the putting the civilization on 'fast forward'. The country that is so advanced will face early destruction. If you have read the Bible, where God has been angry on this one city, he made a big flood to wash out those who don't believe in HIM. Well, my country Philippines is not like that, I even put it 'backward.'  But now that is changing.

Third. I am still here. it means I am still alive taking care of things. of course I own my country, I love it the way it is. there are some imperfections and all, well I am not perfect as well. For now, let us keep it the way it was, for now.

So don't worry my friend, there is no end to the Philippines. Even though lots of typhoons, earthquakes, eruptions, or any other natural calamities will come knocking - we can handle it.

Still worried about corruption though, time to check out my sniper scope and remove all those rats from my country.

Your still ok? Have a beer, you have some more questions and shit? Ok, i'm sure you still do not believe me. It is ok I do not mind at all. I told this story to a lot of people but they called me crazy and stuff. There was this one time that I told this story to my ex gf before, we were having sex hehe, and Pres. Gloria called. She is asking how to handle the financial crisis that is creeping on everyone's doors. But you know man, Philippines was badly hit. Up to now it is still recovering. their monetary system is tied up closely with the US dollar, that is why if the dollar goes down, so does the peso. i told her that, "try to release more products that we have and put more prices on our goods so that we can have, you know that you are an economist for christ's sake." well, easier said than done. if we put more prices on their goods, they will go to our countries like china, indonesia, even thailand.

well enough of the economic shit, now is my g2g, my great great grandfather. its the 1950's war is over and the land was fucked up. you know what he did, nothing. during the war came, he used the certificate's power to gain access around the world. women, wine, gambling, everything. he just shown the certificate like a badge and he got all he wanted. like what i said, he came to know the power of that certificate. he knew that the war will come to the philippines, because japan gaines supremacy there. but he tried one noble thing, he told the americans to avoid the philippines, he will relinquish the ownership of it if they agreed. the americans rejected the offer. they told "while you are busy drinking and fucking around the world," japan already came to your country and spreading their shit all around it." he went to japan and talked to the emperor. he was also given an offer - that is - to bow down to them and they will give him a position as an ambassador. he will become part of the japanese government for international affairs. a good offer considering he will be part of the international delegation around the world - that is if they won the war. they will take the philippines in their posession and turn it into a major military stronghold against the americans.

he almost took the offer, but, being a filipino, and seeing what japan did during the war, killing, raping, torturing his fellow filipinos, he repented on the sins he made against the country he owned. and decided to talk again to the americans.

blast all the japs till they suffer. but there is one crazy thing he thought of:
drop the atomic bombs in manila and major cities around it.

wtf!!!

well, we want a new beginning. this is to serve as a lesson to all nationalities, especially filipinos. the horrors of war will never be forgotten. it is like the bible, where a great flood came, and everybody died excet those who believed in god, and we will come back again from the ashes and become a super power.

american generals, including douglas macarthur laughed. "you crazy sonofabitch, japan is our enemy, not the philippines. if we want someone to dead, it is the japanese."

Bloggel -2 continued

But here is the catch, someone bought back the Philippines. And that was the association of rich aristocrats. And my great great great grandfather volunteered to be the 'Chairman' of the association who will solely own the Philippine Archipelago. They bought this for $ 30 M + ???? ( I will tell you the ???? later). And a mutual agreement was also made with the US - their presence will still be in the Philippines to check & extract the country's natural resources with a constant profit sharing for the chariman and the rest of the organization.

His decision cost him his life.

I will tell you the problem directly my friend. Filipinos have this poor discipline in money saving. Instead of putting it in the bank or investing it to promote prosperity within the land. They put it in their pockets and spend it like there is no tomorrow. My great great great, damn, its long ill just call him G3G. G3G was very mad about this, they told them that he want to earn back what they spent and get the US out of the Phils. The US is extracting a lot of natural ores and oil in the Philippines. The US get rich, and only a handful of people, who are already rich, are getting the money. Now that is bullshit.

My G3G tried to set up schools and roads, but the US and greedy Pinoys who were family members of the Aristocrat organization tried to stop him, as they want to 'survey' the land first for potential ores and minerals for extraction. He tried his best on different locations of the country, especially on poor areas of Leyte, Iligan, Masbate, Negros, Surigao, even parts of Manila. He just want to use the money paid by the Americans to good use. When he put up something, it was demolished.

He became depressed and commited suicide.

The Organization of Aristocrats broke up little by little and eventually gone, but some known surnames in Philippine politics are still there. Little did they know that the contract / certificate was still in my G3G's possession. Which means, he got more share than the others. G3G's son, G2G got this certificate, and soon learned its power. It is more magical, as money is involved.

How I got this? well my father gave it to me. Our family was an aristocrat in the early days ever since the Spaniards came to the Philippines. We were well off, having dinner parties and discussing business and all, just normal affluent stuff.

Then there is this one guy... Jose Rizal.

You know him I'm sure, the Philippine hero. So called father of Hitler (just a joke man! but quite a debate in school before). He called all the rich and wise Filipinos before and talked about this...

"We need to organize. Let us have this revolt against the Spaniards. I plan to write a book if I have the time. For now. we need someone who will serve as trhe ruler of the Philippines. Anyone who want this post?"

All became silent.

Philippines is a lush country, considered before as the spice islands by mistake. Ever since Ferdinand Magellan came, he has brought many things with him, including Christianity. The Spaniards almost settled in the Philippines but you know the case where the Americans fought with Spain long back? Well that is part of it. I will cut it short for you, the Treaty of Paris in 1898 is just one big auction. Spain will go out of teh Philippines - with a price. And for that, the US got $ 20M cash at hand. Spain, suffering from losses after their battles and skirmishes. decided to accept the money...(continued)
